Committee Description

The Legislative Committee empowers members to advocate for policies that support a healthy economy for Oklahoma, recruit new jobs, and retain existing businesses and capital investment. We collaborate with state leaders to shape legislation and champion policies that drive statewide economic growth while furthering Select Oklahoma’s mission through educational workshops and strategic advocacy initiatives.

Duties of Committee Members

As a member of the Legislative Committee, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Legislative Advocacy: Actively lobby for bills and policies that support economic development, partnering with legislators and stakeholders to advance a healthy State economy.
Stakeholder Partnerships: Partner with government officials and industry leaders to address policy opportunities and challenges impacting Oklahoma’s economy.
Monitor and Analyze Legislation: Track legislative activity, analyze proposed bills, and provide recommendations to the Board on their potential impact on economic development.
Organize Advocacy & Educational Events: Plan and execute legislative events, including advocacy days and educational workshops, to engage policymakers, promote pro-growth policies, and increase awareness of economic development issues.
Educate and Report: Develop educational materials and reports to inform the Membership and Board about legislative processes, key issues, and Select Oklahoma’s advocacy efforts.

Meeting Times

The Education Committee meets monthly on the first Tuesday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM via Zoom to discuss ongoing projects, plan upcoming events, and review scholarship applications.
