Committee Description

The Governance Committee is dedicated to supporting the Board’s ongoing development, fostering effective leadership, promoting diversity, and ensuring adherence to governance best practices.

Duties of Committee Members

As a member of the Education Committee, you’ll have the opportunity to: 

  • Bylaws and Governance Review: Assist the Board in reviewing and recommending the Select Oklahoma Bylaws, Governance Manual, and Certificate of Incorporation updates. 
  • Board Training and Orientation: Develop and provide training for Directors on their responsibilities and Select Oklahoma’s operations and governance practices. 
  • Board Effectiveness: Propose changes to Board structure, provide ongoing counsel to leadership, and manage conflicts between Directors. 
  • Board Composition and Recruitment: Analyze Board diversity needs and solicit, research, and propose slates of candidates for Directors and Officers. 
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with the Conflict of Interest Policy and recommend removal of Officers or Directors as needed.

Meeting Times

The Governance Committee meets as needed via Zoom to review Board composition, discuss governance updates, and plan leadership development initiatives.
